Best Used For - Comparing performance within a specific maturity level

Graph Type - By Essential Eight Category

What It Shows - All assessed controls across all maturity levels, shown by category

Best Used For - Viewing overall performance across the full Essential Eight framework

Creating a Graph by Maturity Level

This graph displays all assessed controls for a selected maturity level, broken down across all Essential Eight categories. Use this view when you want to assess how a company has performed at a specific maturity level.

Steps

  1. Go to Assessment and select Create Report.
  2. Select Add Section / Standards.
  3. Select Add Item / Bar Graph.
  4. Under Choose a Standard, select Essential Eight.
  5. Under Level, select the Maturity Level you want to display (e.g. Maturity Level 1, 2, or 3).

The graph will display all assessed controls for the selected maturity level, grouped by Essential Eight category.

Tip: You can repeat these steps to create a separate graph for each maturity level. This is useful if you have assessed a company against all Essential Eight controls and want a snapshot of performance at each level. Alternatively, use the By Essential Eight Category method described below for a single graph covering all levels.

Creating a Graph by Essential Eight Category

This graph displays all assessed controls across all maturity levels, grouped by Essential Eight category. Use this view when you want a consolidated picture of overall performance across the full framework.

Steps

  1. Go to Assessment and select Create Report.
  2. Select Add Section / Standards.
  3. Select Add Item / Bar Graph.
  4. Under Choose a Standard, select Essential Eight.
  5. Under Level, select All Levels.
  6. Use the % and # icons to toggle to your preferred view.
Tip: % shows the percentage of assessed controls that have passed and failed. # shows the total number of assessed controls that passed and failed. Choose the view that best suits your reporting needs.

Important Notes

  • Results only include assessed controls.
  • Controls that have not been assessed will not appear in the graph.
  • Not Applicable controls will not display as a pass or fail in the graph. However, if you have added a table to your report, the control will appear in the list with a Not Applicable result.
